Pickup Truck Traffic Control Equipment Rack (ST1)

The Pickup Truck Traffic Control Equipment Rack is a heavy-duty storage and transport solution designed for pickup trucks with 6.5-foot to 8-foot beds that typically perform work in zones where Speed Limits ≤ 70 km/h. It provides organized, secure storage for traffic cones, windmasters, and standard-sized traffic signs while maximizing available truck-bed space.
The rack accommodates:
- Up to 40 36-inch traffic cones
- Six windmasters
- Dedicated & Ample space for Standard-sized traffic signs
The elevated deck is constructed from durable 1-inch × 1-inch and 1-inch × 2-inch steel tubing and covered with sheet aluminum. The aluminum surface makes loading and handling traffic cones easier, helps protect the windmasters from the elements, and provides an added security barrier when the truck’s tailgate is closed.
A layer of UHMW polyethylene—also known as synthetic ice—is installed beneath the decking to create a low-friction surface for the windmasters. This allows them to be loaded and deployed with minimal effort while helping protect the equipment and host vehicle from abrasion, regardless of the truck bed’s surface.
UHMW material is also incorporated into the sign slot, allowing traffic signs to slide in and out smoothly while reducing scraping, snagging, and wear.
Multiple steel finish options are available to meet the buyer’s preferences and project requirements.

The Heavy-Duty 1-Ton Flatdeck Traffic Control Racking System is purpose-built for professional traffic control operations. Designed for installation on 1-ton (or larger) truck flatdecks, the system provides secure, organized, and efficient storage for essential roadside equipment while prioritizing operator safety, balanced weight distribution, and convenient field access.
Key Design Features
The system includes:
- One primary heavy-duty rack structure for 1-ton flatdecks
- One rear-facing vertical large sign-panel carrier for highway-sized signage
- Two rear-mounted small sign-panel carriers—one per side
- Two side-mounted storage areas for 36-inch traffic cones—one per side
- Two gravity-assisted traffic-barrel slide systems–in reach of side boxes
- Two rear facing tripod racks—one per side
- One dedicated traffic-barrel base racking system
- Two Windmaster racking systems, on each side of the truck

Safe Side-Mounted Equipment Deployment & Retrieval
Traffic cones, barrels, and barrel bases can be deployed and retrieved from the safety of the side-mounted operator boxes. This arrangement allows operators to access and handle equipment from the side of the vehicle without climbing onto the truck deck or unnecessarily entering active traffic areas, reducing the risk of Slip Tip & Fall incidents.
The side-mounted equipment deployment configuration improves ergonomics, reduces lifting and climbing hazards, and supports safer and more efficient roadside operations.
Signage Flexibility
The sign-panel carriers can be configured to accommodate a variety of sign materials, including:
- Aluminum
- Corrugated plastic
- Composite panels
- Other suitable traffic-control sign substrates
The sizing and locations of the dedicated sign storage slots allows for flexibility in sign quantity and size configurations without sacrifice.
